Budapest among the top 100 airports in the world
Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport is ranked 80th on the list of the world’s best airports. Budapest Airport has moved up nearly 20 places compared to last year’s ranking. Hamad in Doha was named the world’s best airport. Among the neighbouring capitals, Vienna is in the top 20, while Warsaw and Prague did not even make it to the top 100.
The airport list
Skytrax has ranked the world’s top 100 airports in its annual survey. The airport of the Hungarian capital is the 80th best airport in the world, according to turizmusonline.hu. Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport has improved 17 places compared to last year. The winner is Hamad Airport in Doha. Last year, Tokyo-Haneda was second and Singapore-Changi finished third.
Budapest has won first place in the “Best Airport in Eastern Europe” category at the 2022 World Airport Awards.

Budapest ranked first in the region
This is the 9th time in a row that the Hungarian capital has received this award, airportal.hu reports. Budapest was ranked ahead of Tallinn, Bucharest, Riga, Tibilisi, Batumi, Kiev-Borispol, Belgrade, Bratislava and Zagreb.
Ferihegy was ranked 84th in 2017, 90th in 2018, 89th in 2019, 93rd in 2020 and 97th last year. Vienna moved up from the 23rd to the 19th spot last year.
Chris Dinsdale, CEO of Budapest Airport Zrt. said. “We are extremely proud to have been named the region’s best airport for the 9th consecutive year. Dinsdale added, “It is clear that we have come a long way in the last three years, as the airport put all its focus on enhancing quality and passenger experience which is proven by the ever-improving results of our passenger satisfaction survey.”
Paris Charles de Gaulle airport was ranked the best European airport, moving up from the 15th to the 6th spot. The Skytrax World Airport Awards is a global passenger satisfaction survey. It measures the quality of airport services and products across a wide range of sectors.
